Connecting Data, Connecting Canada: Building a Trusted Health & Life Sciences Data Ecosystem.
Juliana Wu and Jordan Hunt lead a discussion on the national, multi-organizational initiative to develop a shared vision for a more connected, secure and trusted way to responsibly use health data for the benefit of Canadians. They will explore the ongoing collaborative effort, initiated by the Canadian Institute for Health Information, to design and build the infrastructure needed to implement that vision. This work represents an exciting opportunity for CIHI, HDRN Canada and other health data organizations to work together in shaping an important piece of Canada’s future health and digital data infrastructure.
About the Speakers:
Juliana Wu is the Executive Director of Health Data Advancement at the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), an HDRN Canada member. She provides vision and leadership for CIHI’s activities relating to emerging data expansion priorities and strategic planning efforts for the modernization and transformation of hospital and other health data infrastructure. Juliana has over 20 years of progressive leadership and management experience across CIHI’s data holdings and the corporate data request program. Prior to joining CIHI, she worked as a strategy consultant in the pharmaceutical industry. She earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in economics and mathematics from Wellesley College in the United States and completed graduate-level training in business economics at Harvard University.
Jordan Hunt is the Manager of HDRN Canada’s Data Access Support Hub (DASH) and Chair of the DASH Team. He is also the Director, Data Governance at CIHI, overseeing the integration and evolution of CIHI’s policies, procedures and tooling related to third-party data releases. Jordan has over 20 years of experience working with health data, including previous roles at CIHI and the Nova Scotia Department of Health. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Victoria.
