Bridging the Canadian Data Divide: Lessons in OMOP CDM
HDRN Canada is leading a multi-site initiative to implement the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model (CDM) across provincial data centres. The initiative has also established a Canadian chapter of OHDSI (Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics), a global open-science collaboration. In this presentation, Dr. Lisa Lix and Dr. Georgina Archbold will explore HDRN Canada’s contributions to improving health data quality, interoperability and analytics, and to accelerating reproducible real-world evidence generation in Canada.
About the Speakers:
Dr. Lisa Lix is Associate Dean, Research in the College of Community and Global Health and a Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Manitoba. She is a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair and the Director of Data Science in the George & Fay Yee Centre for Healthcare Innovation, also at the University of Manitoba. She is a member of HDRN Canada’s Executive Committee and the Lead of HDRN Canada’s Harmonized Data & Tools Team.
Dr. Georgina Archbold is the Operational Lead for HDRN Canada’s Harmonized Data & Tools Team. Prior to this, she held senior research and policy advisory roles with the Ontario Hospital Association, Ontario Ministry of Health and the Ontario Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services. Georgina completed a PhD in Neuroscience at McGill University and holds a Master of Public Administration from Queen’s University.
