Call for Applicants: HDRN Canada Board of Directors

The Opportunity

HDRN Canada is recruiting for its Board of Directors, which plays a formative role in shaping how the network grows and evolves over time. This is a volunteer Board and each Board Director shall serve without remuneration, with necessary expenses reimbursed by HDRN Canada.

In accordance with the bylaws of HDRN Canada, Directors of the Board will be appointed by election or acclamation at the annual meeting of members, currently scheduled for May 2023. New Directors will serve a maximum of two consecutive three-year terms, or six consecutive years, whichever comes first.* Subject to a Board resolution providing otherwise, the Board will meet at least four times per year.

The Board has the capacity to conduct its work in English and French as well as the infrastructure (e.g., live simultaneous interpretation services) to support the full involvement of Directors who speak French.

In particular, HDRN Canada is looking for Directors with a focus on the following:

  • Diversity of geography, languages, culture, ethnicity, gender and other factors
  • Privacy law experience
  • Indigenous lived experience
