Catherine Street joins HDRN Canada Executive Committee

HDRN Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Catherine Street to the Executive Committee, effective June 1, 2022. Catherine will also take on the role of Chair of HDRN Canada’s Public Engagement Working Group.

Since 2014, Catherine has served as Director of the Newfoundland and Labrador SUPPORT Unit (NL SUPPORT), funded through CIHR’s Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR) initiative. In this role, she is responsible for strategic development, budgetary and staff management, performance monitoring, patient engagement, and training and capacity development for the SUPPORT Unit and its associated programs, Quality of Care NL and the Centre for Analytics, Informatics and Research.

Throughout her time with NL SUPPORT, Catherine has gained significant experience in patient and public engagement in research, and understands the significant added value that patients and the public can bring to research.

“I am delighted to be joining the Executive of HDRN Canada,” said Catherine. “I look forward to using my experience in patient-oriented research and patient and public engagement to advance the work of HDRN Canada in delivering on the research and development opportunities that are presented by the appropriate use of health data from multiple jurisdictions.”

“I am thrilled that Catherine is joining our Executive committee as well as taking on the role of Chair of the Public Engagement Working Group. Her commitment to public engagement will be an asset to both of these groups,” said Kim McGrail, Scientific Director and CEO of HDRN Canada. “Catherine’s leadership of NL SUPPORT is a great connection to another part of the SPOR family and will be a good perspective to add to our Executive.”
